|| courtney smoothed down her dress as she sat at the bar of the bonefish. she sat with her ring tapping the glass of pomegranate martini. a man sat down next to her and asked the bartender for a sam adams beer. she glanced at the man next to him. he was pretty cute. brown hair, blue eyes, nice smile. he must have noticed that she was checking him out because he extended his hand.

|| saskia padded around the house, licking a spoon. she was thoroughly enjoying her ice cream which she happily indulged in when she got home. she had seen enough vaginas for the day. one woman had gonorrhea and had absolutely no idea. women these days, they had no idea about their bodies. she shook all the terrible images out of her head and threw the ben & jerry's ice cream carton into the trashcan and placed the silver spoon in the dishwasher. she shivered. she probably shouldn't have ice cream before bed anymore.

|| malkah headed towards her white audi a5 cabriolet. the dance studio had closed at nine, but malkah always stayed after and made sure all the business things were finished for the day. sure, she worked at a dance studio, but she only dance sometimes. tonight wasn't one of those nights. she was looking for a day job since the dance studio is only open from four to nine for four out of the seven days in a week. she wanted a nine to five job, but she knew that was to boring for her. she thought of what she wanted to do on the way home.

|| on a bright sunny day in june, two people finally got married. aaron wakefield and haley uminski finally tied the knot and settled down in the bustling city of new york. haley got pregnant within the first couple of months of their marriage. on may sixth in ninteen eighty five, they bore their first child, courtney breeann. she was named after haley's grandmother. three years later, on a chilly september twenty ninth in nineteen eighty eight, they bore another girl named saskia elizabeth. she was named after aaron's great grandmother. and right after that, on a cold january second in nineteen eighty nine, their last and final child was born. malkah artemis was born, with no sense to her name, but knowing her name meant queen.
 
the girls grew older, shaping themselves into prim and proper girls being raised by an anesthesiologist and a stay-at-home mother. when courtney was sixteen, saskia was thirteen, and malkah was twelve, they watched their world fall apart. her father, who worked at the world trade center, had left his lunch on the counter, so after their mother dropped them off at school, she headed towards his work to give him his lunch. when disaster struck. their parents were included in the two thousand nine hundred and ninety six people who died in those september eleventh attacks. they hadn't even got to celebrate saskia's thirteenth birthday.
 
the wakefield sisters were moved to their aunt fiona's house in delaware. they had to shift their whole life to accommodate themselves to their new surroundings. luckily, they all graduated magna cum laude and headed to college. they all attended university of delaware. courtney graduated with a master's degree in physiology and became a dietician. saskia graduated with a bachelor's in biology and a PhD in medical school to become a ob/gyn. and finally, malkah graduated with a bachelor's in business and decided to create a dance studio with her friend vallery.
 
the girls all live together in one house in rehoboth beach, delaware. they thought it would be dumb to have separate houses when they were going to be in the same town. they're all single, and looking. they love each other with all their hearts and won't ever stop.
